This Web site is dedicated to the thousands of "users" of my programs, those who have helped test my programs over the last 22 or so years, and especially those who shared their experiences with me.
You must read this notice: This is a licensed Web site (HTML document and associated files). You must read and agree to be legally bound in contract by the Terms of Use and conditions given in the End User License Agreement ("EULA"), Legal Notices, Instructions, Warnings, Disclaimers, and all other text in "SECTION: 0" of "This Web Site" (HTML document and associated files) before reading or using any of the information, software programs, and or files, contained in, linked to, and or associated with, "This Web Site" (HTML document and associated files). Any use or "Beta Testing" of "This Web Site" constitutes your acknowledgment of your full agreement with the current End User License Agreement ("EULA") and your decision to have this current license supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements and understandings. Information and files in "This Web Site" (HTML document and associated files) have been placed here so that long time users of "The Author's" programs DANCAD3D.COM (tm) , DANCAM.EXE (tm) , or DANPLOT.EXE (tm) could help proofread the text of the documentation files or screens displayed, and also help test data files, example files, and or any software programs that might be made available from time to time, to aid "The Author" in finding mistakes, bugs, and other errors, omissions, defects, mistakes, and faults. Everything in "This Web Site" (HTML document and associated files) is "Beta Test", "Beta Code", Experimental, Preliminary, requires proofreading, or is being evaluated for possible revision, and is NOT warranted to be free of defect. To help "The Author" report any bugs, foul-ups, defects, or mistakes that you find, see "SECTION: 8" for instructions. "This Web Site" (HTML document and associated files) and all other files and programs by Daniel H. Hudgins are made available "AS IS" without warranty of any kind express, expressed, or implied. All offers and specifications are subject to change or discontinuation without notice of any kind. Please read "SECTION: 8" of "This Web Site" (HTML document and associated files) before trying to contact "The Author."
Thank you for volunteering to become a "Beta Tester". I thank you for making your submission that might be helpful in furthering my goals for developing the programs and files. Support contact is available at the discretion of "The Author", so it is very important that you closely follow all guidelines in order to satisfy and conform to the guidelines. Failure to conform to guidelines may delay or obstruct resolution of issues.
Please make your submitted comments constructive and useful since there is only one reason for contacting me, to help me improve my works. Please be polite, to the point, and begin by stating that you have entered into agreement with the current "EULA" and are an active "Beta Tester". If you are not a legitimate "Beta Tester" please do not contact me via the contact methods linked to below.
Please read all of this section and its sub-sections of this Web site before you try to contact me. If you have read contact instructions in some old version of the programs prior to v2.7I or copyrighted before 2005 the information you have read is probably out of date and should not be considered as a current guide. The information in the current On-Line version of this Section: 8 and its sub-sections describe the current correspondence contact guidelines. If you do not follow the current correspondence contact guidelines, processing of your correspondence may be delayed or otherwise go off the tracks.
Please do not send postage stamps, coupon-reponse, return postage, money, enclosures, or anything other than one of my "Correspondence Forms" by postal mail or delivery service. I do not generally wish to accept items enclosed in envelopes or packages, so please do not mail me random items of any kind, and please do not send money with requests that I do something for you or answer some particular question or request. It is an unnecessary burden for me to mail back un-requested items, so please do not send them to me in the first place. If you ignore my request not to mail odd things to me I might just return them, I might just keep them unopened, or I might just destroy them. The guidelines in this section, and its sub-sections, relating to correspondence are very preliminary and may undergo revision, or other changes, so you should check the current "On-Line" version of this section before trying to correspond with me, i.e. "The Author" of "This Web Site." If the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site" (HTML document) is unavailable for some reason, it would be best for you to wait until it is available again. All guidelines, statements, procedures, and specifications are subject to change or discontinuation without notice. All support for "The Author's Creations" may become unavailable at any time.
Please do not ask me about using correspondence methods that are not linked to in the current contact method index at the bottom of this page. I may not reply directly to some correspondence, rather, I would like to answer most questions about the programs through the FAQ section of this Web site for all "Beta Testers" rather than just back to the sender as a personal reply, but I may do both, one, the other, or nether.
Over the years I have probably answered thousands of letters. From my long experience of answering all of these letters I am developing some procedures and guidelines to reduce extraneous correspondence and streamline the support process. To make it easier for you to help streamline your correspondence I ask that you only use the correspondence contact methods linked to below, rather than composing a letter that might omit some information I might desire, or contain extraneous material that I might not desire. Be sure to follow all the guidelines and instructions for each correspondence contact method linked to. I appreciate your cooperation in helping me to streamline my support correspondence efforts, thank-you.
I thank you for your interest in my programs, files, documentation, and other creations. I always consider it a complement when someone thinks enough of my efforts to take the time to want to contact me. However, I must ask that any questions be kept primarily to the narrow scope of commands currently in my current programs. Please carefully read all of this SECTION: 8, before you try to contact me. Also if you have a question for the FAQ please make a fair effort to look over this Web site to see if you can find out if the answer is already stated.
If you want to submit correspondence to "The Author" you will need to use the correspondence methods that are linked to below. It is important that you acknowledge or enclose a transfer of copyright notice with your correspondence, transferring all legal and copyrights for the contents of your correspondence to me, including all of your rights for commercial uses and production of derivative works. You must agree to be legally bound by the End User License Agreement ("EULA") and in particular the paragraph regarding "Ownership of Evaluations, Submissions, and Derivatives" before corresponding with me. The "Correspondence Forms" contain such a transfer of copyright statement for you to fill in the blanks of, date, and sign in ink. You should not send me anything, or tell me anything, that you want to retain ownership of, or keep private and in confidence. Ideally correspondence should be limited to the discussion of issues relating to specific commands in my programs.
The Appropriate Subjects for Correspondence:
Questions for the FAQ, are generally limited to asking about which command in the currently released version of the programs might be used to do something. Be careful that you ask about something that the version of the programs that you now have can actually do, or you will be wording a "Wish List Suggestion" as a support question, which would mean that you used the wrong "Correspondence Form." Questions end with a question mark. Do not ask about when products will be released, currently unavailable products, commands not currently in the released versions of the programs, or other such questions.
Bug Reports, are generally a description in detail about a program command that does not seem to be operating as described in the documentation associated with that version of the program. Bug reports can also describe mistakes in "This Web Site," the documentation, missing files, and other sorts of errors, omissions, and problems with a given program distribution. Be careful that you do not mix files from different versions or distributions since they may not be intended to work together. "Beta Testers" should for the most part only be testing the most current program versions and revisions, and so Bug Reports should relate to commands in the most current program revision.
Wish List Suggestions, are statements about things that the programs you have do not do, but you think might be useful to you. Such statements let me know what areas of my programs users are interested in. I cannot promise that any of your "wishes" will come true, but if enough users ask about the same type of thing I might keep that in mind for the next time I am working on that part of the programs. Suggestions for unavailable types of "Correspondence Forms" would be made using the "Wish List Suggestion" "Correspondence Form." Inquires relating to companies that act as vendors would be made on the "Wish List Suggestion" "Correspondence Form," since you are expressing a desire of some kind. If a vendor needs to report a bug he would probably use the "Bug Report" "Correspondence Form." Please word all "Wish List Suggestions" as statements and not as questions, i.e. "I would like..." and not "When will you..." and such. In submitting suggestions you are granting and assigning any suggestions, including but not limited to suggestions for changes and improvements, to be the author's property without compensation to you of any kind.
Orders, if any are being accepted would be made on the "Order" "Correspondence Form," which may or may not be available at any given time depending on what I am doing in that regard. Do not use the "Order" "Correspondence Form" if it is more that 30 days old.
I have spent a lot of time over the years answering many of the questions people have asked me about using my programs. Because so many of the questions I have received during the last few years have been off the subject of the direct operation of my programs I will try in this section to give to you some guidelines as to what sorts of questions and information might be appropriate for you to include in your correspondence with me. I ask you to please keep any and all questions limited to be almost only be about the direct operation of the menus and commands in the copy of my programs that you are now "Beta Testing" (which would be the most recent revision), and not matters that are off of the subject. If you correspond with me about other subjects, or do not follow the guidelines given below, your correspondence will probably not be replied to, either through the FAQ or in any other way.
Always be sure to state the exact program version, program filename, the date, the time, and the file size of the *.COM or *.EXE program file. The program version codes do not change for all revisions, so I also need to know the date, time, and file size in order to try to identify which revision you are "Beta Testing". If you think you have found a bug check to see if you are "Beta Testing" the most recent revision.
The time I have to work on my programs is limited, and so I would rather try to write code, or work on my documentation, in preference to replying to correspondence, particularly correspondence that asks questions not directly related to my programs' menus and commands.
One of my goals in setting up "This Web Site" is to allow my long time users to get information by "self-service" over the internet, thereby relieving me from being involved with answering mundane questions, and possibly making some of the information available to you without the wait for me to get around to possibly making some kind of a reply.
Rather than continue to answer questions with the old approach of replying by personal letters I am thinking of possibly largely replying to support questions by possibly adding something to the FAQ section of "This Web Site," see the discussion of the "Questions for the FAQ" below. Questions that are far off the subject of my programs menus and commands would probably not be replied to at all either in the FAQ or by other methods.
Any inquiry that asks about something that the copy of the most recent revision of the programs you now have now does not do is probably going to be considered a "Wish List Suggestion," and will generally not be replied to in the FAQ. "Wish list Suggestions" and similar sorts of suggestions are not generally considered support questions since they ask about things that the programs in current release do not even do. Do not word "Wish List Suggestions" in the form of a question, they should be statements like, "I would like to see your programs someday perhaps do..." and such.
Please do not ask me about other companies products, what the price of other companies products are, where to purchase other companies products, what other companies products do, which product made by some other company is "best", how my programs compare with some other companies products, if my programs are compatible with some other companies products, or any other question about some other companies products.
If some other company suggested that you use my programs with their product contact them if you have a problem using their product with my programs. Please do not ask me how to get some other companies product to operate properly with my programs. I do not generally get payments from other companies that might have recommend my programs to you, and so I have probably not gotten a share of your payment to them. If you got a defective copy of my programs from some other company that sold you something, contact them for assistance.
If you complete and mail one of the "Correspondence Forms" to me, I do not want you to enclose any stamps, coupon-reponse, return postage, checks, money of any kind, gifts, enclosures, or anything other than the "Correspondence Forms." If you have an order form in your copy of the programs, that order form is out of date and you should not send it to me. Orders, if any are being taken at this time, will probably now be handled as may be outlined in the "Orders and Payment" sub-section below. Do not send me personal letters, in their place use the "Correspondence Forms" linked to in a sub-section linked to below.
News about current events might be found in the What's New and Newsletter sections of this Web site, so you should refer your questions about current events to those sections.
Copies of older "Shareware" floppy disks, or old out of date articles, may be available on the internet or elsewhere, please ignore anything on those older shareware disks, or documents, that relates to the purchasing of out of date items. Please so not ask me about purchasing out of date items, or anything that is not currently listed in the "Orders and Payment" sub-section in SECTION: 8 of the current "On-Line" version of "This Web Site." The "Orders and Payment" sub-section on "CD- ROM" or other "disk" copies of "This Web Site" (HTML document) are almost certainly out of date, and so you should not try to order anything until you check the current "On-Line" text of the "Orders and Payment" sub-section of SECTION: 8.
Please do not ask questions about other companies products, things the current version of my programs that you have now does not currently do, my personal situation, or questions about what I am working on or when anything might someday become available.
When you fill in the blanks of the "Correspondence Forms" please type or clearly print all of your entries, except for your signature, and clearly type your date of agreement, full name, home street address, your e-mail address if you have one, and your home phone number. The address you supply must be one where you will personally accept and sign for restricted delivery registered mail.
Please clearly write your full name and home street address on the outside of any submission that you submit to me by postal mail. If the submission is not addressed properly, i.e. not containing the current proper identifying "FORM ID CODE" code number(s) from the "Correspondence Form(s)" submitted, your submission may just be returned to you unopened, or you may get no reply at all. If some things at my end have changed over time, your submission may be returned unopened with some kind of "form letter" or Newsletter. Since I may be away, or preoccupied, for an extended period of time you may not see a reply in the FAQ, or mail, for quite a while, perhaps from several to many months or more, or perhaps not at all, depending on what the situation may be at the time that you submit the "Correspondence Form" and or the nature of your correspondence. If you do not see a reply in the FAQ to some question you have submitted for consideration for addition to the FAQ, it may be because I had difficulty reading your handwriting, your question was off the subject of my current program's menus and commands, your question was already answered somewhere in the documentation, your letter never got to me, you forgot to include your full name and home street address, you did not complete your entries on the "Correspondence Forms" properly, you did not address the submission properly, or because of some other problem.
Please carefully read all of the text in "This Web Site" (HTML document) including the HTML documentation derived from the old files DANCAD3D.DOC, CAMPLOT.DOC, and UPDATE26.DOC that were part of the v2.6 distributions, as well as all of the other "new" text and documentation in, or associated with, "This Web Site" (HTML document), before formulating any questions or using the programs.
If you have difficulty printing files included in the program distribution you now have, your printer may be incompatible with the programs, and therefore may not be able to be used with the programs.
If you think that you have received a defective copy of an old out of date version of my programs, or disks that have missing or altered files, you will need to contact the other party that you got the disks from.
I would prefer to not answer extraneous questions as this just takes up what little time that I have to work on things. A good deal of the mail I have been getting falls into the "What are you working on..." or the "I do not know what you have but I want a copy..." category. While it is flattering that someone would be interested enough in my projects to correspond with me, I prefer to not talk about things I may have been working on before they are released. I do not plan, at this time, on sending out any copies of anything before I feel those things might be ready for testing, so don't ask about things that are not being offered currently.
The cost of mailing back my replies to letters by registered mail has been taking too large of a portion of what little money I have to spend on computer hardware and other things I might use to continue work on some of my projects. I had been trying to send some kind of response to each letter I got, but it would be better for all the users of my programs if I could, during this year and beyond, have the option to spend that money instead on getting my projects in order, so I can get more work done in what little time I have to work on each of my projects. Therefore the less mail I have to answer the more time and money I might have for other things.
Since I am not accepting registrations right now, please do not send me registration fees. Do not enclose with the "Correspondence Forms" any return postage, coupon-reponse, stamps, postage coupons, stamped envelopes, self addressed envelopes, or money for reply postage. Do not send to me any gift items by postal mail or delivery services such as floppy disks, printout, or anything else that I might have to mail back to you someday.
I am investigating lower cost methods of distribution, and how best I might revise some of the older supplemental materials. When I feel I am might have made progress I might use "This Web Site" (HTML document) to pass the word on, so you probably do not need to keep writing to me personally, without your first checking what is said in the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site" about any possible current offers.
Do not ask about the release dates of products that are under development, they will be done when they are done.
At this point in time I do not have a plan to offer support methods other than the ones linked to below so please do not ask me for any of my personal contact information other than what is given in the links below. Do not try to contact me by currently undefined methods, you will probably just be ignored.
I cannot be responsible for any lost or mis-delivered, misdirected, or misplaced postal mail or other lost or misguided electronic correspondence. I cannot be responsible for loss of your personal information in transmission or storage, so do not send any sensitive or private information to me.
When you correspond with me please type your entries on my "Correspondence Form", except for your signature which should be signed in ink, if you do not get, or see, a reply it may be because I could not read your handwriting properly. Always include your full name and return address typed clearly in all correspondence.
You should not be asking me questions if you have not read all of the documentation in "This Web Site," read all of the documentation in the current program distribution you would now be "Beta Testing", and you do not currently have the programs operating properly on your computer. The programs have been released for "Beta Testing" so that you can see what they are before you try to correspond with me, i.e. do not ask me general questions about what the programs do. Since support generally involves only specific questions about things my programs currently do, you would most likely need to be at least some what already familiar with, and experienced in the operation of, my current programs before you could ask any questions about the particulars, and idiosyncrasies, of my program's menus and commands. My mailing address should be at the bottom of DANCAD3D (tm) v2.7's or v3.7's Main Menu. You are not allowed to visit at my mailing address in person, so please do not drop by spontaneously.
Many of the common questions that you as a new user might ask me can probably be figured out by looking at any information files that might now be part of this Web site or come in the program distribution, e.g. *.DOC, *.BAT, *.TXT, *.HTM, or by examining any sample files, e.g. *.ASC, *.MAC, *.2D, *.ZIP, and also by looking at the program's menus and help screens. Note that some of the filetypes mentioned may not have been included in your particular distribution's file set. If you have an out of date, defective, altered, or incomplete copy of my distribution you should contact your source, or vendor, and not me about such issues.
If you submit questions to be considered for the FAQ please only ask me very specific questions about the direct operation of my programs commands and their menus. I would rather not be the "answer man" right now, if you have questions about other companies products, motors, drivers, old magazine articles, or anything that I have not authored you could probably do better if you contact the author or manufacture of that product or document and ask them about their stuff. Try using a search engine on the internet to find that other manufactures Web site.
You might try searching the internet for information on other companies products by going to some external search Web sites linked to in SECTION: 9.11.95.0.
If you have found some old magazine article do not assume something that was offered years ago is still available. Please contact the other companies mentioned and do not ask me to investigate if their things are still available for you, or what price they might be charging now.
"This Web Site" (HTML document) or some version thereof that I have installed as www.DANCAD3D.com (sm) is still a work in progress, so please do not ask me about things that are not installed in "This Web site" (HTML document) right now, including files you might think should be in the download section. If you have an "abbreviated" distribution of "This Web Site" (HTML document), in a *.ZIP file for instance, some of the links to graphic, or other types of media files, may not work because some or all of the graphic files may have been omitted to reduce the number of bytes used.
If you make a link to my URL www.DANCAD3D.com (sm), the "On- Line" version of "This Web Site," please only link to the address http://www.DANCAD3D.com/ (sm) since the actual location of the individual files that make up the site may change from time to time.
All statements in "This Web Site," and or any correspondence with me, as well as all offers and specifications are subject to change or discontinuation without notice. All support for the programs will someday come to a end. So do not expect anything mentioned to be available at some point in the future. Always check to see what is being offered at the current time before sending any money for an order. Consider all ordering information to be void and out of date if it is more than 30 days old.
I am sorry about if I have fatigued you by going into such detail regarding things not to correspond with me about, or send to me, but since so much of the mail I have gotten over the last few years involves questions not directly related to the operation of my programs commands and menus, questions that could be figured out by reading the supplied documentation and working with the programs, or inquires about things that are not available right now I would like to have faith that some guidelines might help avoid needless correspondence. I hope that you will agree that my time and money are better spent working on my projects.
General guidelines to follow if you correspond with me:
Do not send payment with requests or to order out of date items. If payment for something is required you will probably see instructions on what to send in the "Orders and Payment" sub-section of SECTION: 8 of the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site." If "This Web Site" is down do not attempt to order at that time. Do not order from order forms that are more than 30 days old.
Do not send postage stamps.
Do not send self addressed stamped envelopes (S.A.S.E.).
Do not send return postage or "Coupon-Reponse International".
Do not send printed matter, floppy disks, or other items as enclosures.
Do not send anything that you want back, or that I will need to return to you.
Do not send anything by postal mail other than one of my "Correspondence Forms." Please use the appropriate "Correspondence Form" rather than composing your own form of a letter.
Do not ask me questions about products made by other companies.
Do not ask more than one "Questions for the FAQ" per "Correspondence Form." Use a separate form for each "Question for the FAQ", "Bug Report", or "Wish List Suggestion". Try not to submit more than four questions per month.
Do not ask about features that are not in the current version you now have.
Do not ask where you can get the programs or other items.
Do not ask about my health, personal problems, financial situation, or family difficulties.
Do not ask about purchasing things that you do not see currently listed for sale in the Orders and Payment sub-section of SECTION: 8 of the current "On-Line" version of "This Web Site" at URL www.DANCAD3D.com (sm). If the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site" is down do not try to order anything during the down time. If you do not see any items listed for sale in SECTION: 8 it probably means that none are available right now, at this time, or that time. Items might be available for a period and they are then discontinued or replaced with different products. Do not ask me about out of date products, and any suspended or discontinued, products. Do not use order forms that are on CD-ROM or *.ZIP file versions of this Web site, they would almost certainly be out of date and incorrect, check the "On-Line" version of this Web site, if this Web site is still operating, by dialing in or connecting to the internet.
Send your "Correspondence Forms" only by regular un-registered mail. I cannot be responsible for replying to lost, returned, or mis- delivered mail.
Wait three months before re-submitting a "Question for the FAQ" if you see no reply in the FAQ. I may be out of town or busy so it may take a while for me to get caught up with things.
Please limit "Questions for the FAQ" that you submit primarily to the operation of my program's commands and the program's menus.
You should supply your full name, and home street address that you will receive and sign for registered postal mail at, your e-mail address, and your home phone number in all of your correspondence to me so that I can contact you if I feel I need to. I might not reply to correspondence that does not have your full name and return address on it.
Type all of your questions, bug reports, wish list suggestions, evaluations, findings, submissions, and such you are sending to me on the "Correspondence Forms" clearly. I am not good at figuring out handwriting, please type your text and also the "To:" and "From:" addresses on the submission. People in Europe should be careful not to make their Ones look like Sevens, or your answer, if I would send you one, might end up in your neighbors mail box.
Make your "Questions for the FAQ" very specific about my program's commands and not vague. Do not ask me what this or that is "best."
Read all of my documentation files in my program distribution that you now have and also read all of the information in the current "On-Line" version of "This Web Site" before writing to me with questions about the program's commands.
Do not contact me if the programs will not operate properly on your computer. Do not contact me if you do not have the program files installed at this time. The main idea behind "User Supported" programs is that the user can try the programs, and look at them, on their computer to see if the user likes them BEFORE the user contacts the programs' author. If the programs will not run on your main computer, you might try the programs on an older '286, '386, '486, or something to see if the programs will work on the older computer. The v2.7 and v3.7 CAD programs may be tested under Windows 95 OSR2 (tm) or maybe Windows 98SE (tm), and the CAM programs under DOS 6.22. Under DOS 6.22 the AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files may need to be edited to free up more DOS memory, particularly for the v2.7 and other real memory mode programs since the real memory mode programs may require more DOS memory than the newer protected memory mode v3.7 program versions. If the copy of the programs you have will not work at all on any computer you might have a bad copy of my programs or you may be doing something wrong.
Always be sure to state the exact program version, program filename, the date, the time, and the file size of the *.COM or *.EXE program file. The program version codes do not change for all revisions, so I also need to know the date, time, and file size in order to try to identify which revision you are "Beta Testing".
You may not mention that you have sent a gift in correspondence, nor may you ask about sending gifts, nor may you express in interest in sending a gift in your correspondence.
I wish you much success in all your projects, and hope you enjoy using my programs as you are able. I regret that I might no longer be able to send personal replies to many of the submissions that I will get in the future, but you can continue to try to submit "Questions for the FAQ", "Wish List Suggestions", and "Bug Reports" by using the correspondence contact methods linked to below. If you are reading this HTML document "Off- Line" you should check the current version of this section in the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site," if it is available at that time, for any current guidelines regarding correspondence. If the "On-Line" version is not working check back since the "On-Line" version may just be out of operation temporarily.
Only active "Beta Testers" may submit Questions for the FAQ since they are the only people allowed to run the programs and make use of information in this Web site. See Section: 0 if you would like information on how to become a "Beta Tester".
If you want to submit a "Question for the FAQ" you can use the QUESTION.TXT form linked to in the "Correspondence Forms" sub-section linked to below. The "Questions for the FAQ" "Correspondence Form" has a transfer of Copyright declaration and agreement contract for you to complete in order to acknowledge your transfer of all of your legal rights and all of your copyright rights for your submission to me. You must read and agree to all of the text of the QUESTION.TXT form before you submit a "Question for the FAQ, even if you use one of the other contact methods since the transfer of your Copyright and other rights for your submission is always implicit upon your making any submission. No mater which contact method you use to submit your "Question for the FAQ" to me, you must agree to be legally bound by all of the terms and conditions of the current End User License Agreement ("EULA") and in particular the paragraph regarding "Ownership of Evaluations, Submissions, and Derivatives" before sending a "Question for the FAQ" to me.
Questions on topics not suitable for my FAQ should probably not be submitted. Some topics may not be suitable for submission as "Questions for the FAQ" may possibly be able to be submitted as a "Bug Report" or "Wish List Suggestion".
Please do not send "Wish List Suggestions" as material for the FAQ. For the most part I will not reply to submitted "Wish List Suggestions" even if they are mistakenly worded in the form of a question. Suggestions should be worded as a statement, i.e. "I would like you to... someday" and the like.
I may start posting some Questions and Answers to questions about my program's commands that users send to me that I feel might be of general interest in the FAQ section of "This Web Site." Those questions should not be already answered in some way through the other documentation, and would also need to refer primarily to commands already in the current version and revision of the programs. Questions and Answers would probably be located in SECTION: 2, the FAQ, of "This Web Site" at URL http://www.DANCAD3D.com/. The decision as to whether any given question would be suitable for inclusion would be left up to my selection, and I might edit and or reword the question to reflect my view of the subject.
If and when I get things going, the submission of "Questions for the FAQ" might work something like this:
You submit to me a question about the commands in my current programs for the FAQ using the contact methods linked to below. Your submission should contain a statement of your acknowledgment that you are transferring all of your legal rights, copyright rights (common and statutory), and ownership for and of the contents of your questions, writings, works, and correspondence to Daniel H. Hudgins in perpetuity for Daniel H. Hudgins do whatever he wants to do with your submission, including but not limited to publication, commercial sale, and or development of derivative works. See the "Questions for the FAQ" "Correspondence Form" that may be linked to through a sub-section link below for an example of such a statement of acknowledgment of the transfer of rights. The act of submission shall be considered an acknowledgment of the transfer of all rights pertaining to the submission in the absence of a statement acknowledging the transfer of rights. If you do not acknowledge your transfer of rights upon submission, you should discontinue your "Beta Testing" since such transfer of rights is an important part of the "EULA". If you are not an active "Beta Tester" operating under the current "EULA" you should not contact me by using the current contact methods.
If I think the question is appropriate, and you have completed the transfer of all of your legal rights and Copyright rights to me, I might, after a month or two, or as I have time, possibly post the question, perhaps in edited form, along with some sort of answer in the FAQ or elsewhere in a revision of "This Web Site" or another work. The answer might just be a suggestion to read some part of the documentation.
You would then, after a while, look at the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site" to see if there is an answer to your question, or some part of the subject of your question. If the question was about something that I did not create, was in the category of questions I feel are about off subject matters, or your transfer of all legal rights and Copyright rights was not acknowledged properly, I would probably just ignore the question, and no reply would be posted.
In some cases I might reply directly to ask you a question about your submission, or something like that, but I would like to get away from doing that if I can. This is just a thought now, with so few people contacting me I do not know if anything like this would work out. I would rather spend what little time I have working on things rather than answering extraneous correspondence right now. So please note that if you correspond with me any of your questions, comments, submissions, or suggestions may end up as part of a version of "This Web Site" (HTML document) or some other work, no information will be held in confidence, anything you say in your correspondence may be reproduced for the public to read. If I answer your "Question for the FAQ" in the FAQ I will probably not write to you to thank you for your submission, so let me thank you in advance for submitting a "Question for the FAQ" to be considered for possible inclusion.
Normally only active "Beta Testers" should submit Bug Reports since they are the only people authorized to run the current programs and make use of information from this Web site. See Section: 0 if you would like information on how one might become a "Beta Tester". I should add that it is the duty of anyone using this Web site or my programs to report any bugs they find.
If you want to submit a "Bug Report" you might use the BUGS.TXT form linked to in the "Correspondence Forms" sub- section linked to below. The "Bug Report" "Correspondence Form" has a transfer of Copyright declaration and agreement contract for you to complete in order to acknowledge your transfer of all of your legal rights and all of your copyright rights for your submission to me. You must read and agree to all of the text of the BUGS.TXT form before you submit a "Bug Report, even if you use one of the other contact methods since the transfer of your Copyright and other rights for your submission is always implicit upon your making any submission. No mater which contact method you use to submit your "Bug Report" to me, you must agree to be legally bound by all of the terms and conditions of the current End User License Agreement ("EULA") and in particular the paragraph regarding "Ownership of Evaluations, Submissions, and Derivatives" before sending a "Bug Report" to me.
The "Bug Reports" are primarily for use to report bugs, defects, errors, omissions, spelling and grammatical mistakes, broken HTML links, and other types of faults in: "This Web Site" (HTML document), all of the various documentation files I have authored, any of the demo, batch, sample, or example files I have authored, any of the software programs I have authored, and other files or items associated with the aforementioned.
I generally cannot fix bugs that I cannot see happening on my computer, or do not know are happening on your computer.
When you submit a "Bug Report" about a bug you should not expect that the bug you report will be fixed any time soon, or ever. Some bugs may be easy to fix and an update might be posted in a few days, but it is impossible to tell you in advance how long it will take or if a bug can or will get fixed. Reporting a bug does help me learn which parts of the programs are being used, and what I might need to improve if I ever find the time to go over those sorts of things.
The more detail you can send about exactly which chain of commands you entered to produce the bug will help me try to see if I can make the same bug show up on my computer. Tell me the scale settings and other values you entered when you configured the programs. Because of the wide range of computer hardware used to run my programs there is a good chance that I will not be able to get the bug you mention to happen on one of my computers, and so I will not be able to see the bug or fix it.
If or when I decide to release a revision depends on how things go from time to time, and it might be many years between updates, if there ever is one or are some.
You should not expect a reply to your bug report, and you might not know if I got it or it got lost in the mail or something. I may reply back if I want you to try certain things on your computer, but all of your time and efforts may just be for my knowledge and might not result in your gaining anything or solving your particular problems.
With the programs as complex as my programs are becoming there is only so much testing I can do by myself. Your bug reports might be informative for me to learn more about what is going on with other users, and their different hardware. Since I cannot read minds, or know what problems you might think exist with my programs' commands, the "only" way I can know what is going on at your end is if you tell me about your experiences by submitting your "Bug Report".
Since there is a good chance that I will not reply to your "Bug Report," let me thank you in advance for taking the time to make one.
Only active "Beta Testers" may submit Wish List Suggestions since they are the only people allowed to run the programs and make use of information in this Web site. See Section: 0 if you would like information on how to become a "Beta Tester".
If you want to submit a "Wish List Suggestions" you can use the WISHLIST.TXT form linked to in the "Correspondence Forms" sub-section linked to below. The "Wish List Suggestions" "Correspondence Form" has a transfer of Copyright declaration and agreement contract for you to complete in order to acknowledge your transfer of all of your legal rights and all of your copyright rights for your submission to me. You must read and agree to all of the text of the WISHLIST.TXT form before you submit a "Wish List Suggestions", even if you use one of the other contact methods since the transfer of your Copyright and other rights for your submission is always implicit upon your making any submission. No mater which contact method you use to submit your "Wish List Suggestions" to me, you must agree to be legally bound by all of the terms and conditions of the current End User License Agreement ("EULA") and in particular the paragraph regarding "Ownership of Evaluations, Submissions, and Derivatives" before sending a "Wish List Suggestions" to me.
Any sort of correspondence, statement, suggestion, or inquiry not relating to a question that you are submitting to be considered for possible inclusion as a "Question for the FAQ", or a "Bug Report," would probably need to fall under the "Wish List Suggestion" category. Anything that the current version of my programs that you now have does not do would probably also be a "Wish List Suggestion."
Please do not word "Wish List Suggestions" as questions, they should be worded as statements like: "Someday I would like your programs to be able to do..." and such and not "When will your programs do..." and such.
In most cases you should not expect a reply to the submission of your "Wish List Suggestion", so I will say thank you in advance for taking the time to submit a suggestion.
There is currently no new order form right now, check back in the future if you would like to see if a link to an "ORDER.TXT" file has been added to the "Correspondence Forms" sub-section linked to in the index below.
No release date has been set for the availability of items not already internally linked to in the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site." Since I cannot know how long it will take me to do "things", or how much free time I will have to work on "things," I cannot tell you much more about if or when anything might someday become available, so please do not ask me about such matters.
All of the order forms in the versions of the programs that are currently in circulation are out of date, do not try to order anything listed on those old order forms or try to send the amount of payment mentioned in those old out of date order forms!
Do not send by any means: order payments, stamps, postage coupons i.e. coupon-reponse, cash, checks, money orders, gift items in a package or envelope, anything of value, anything you might want back, enclosures, or anything other than by using the contact methods that may be linked to below to "The Author" unless you have been instructed to do so in a correspondence that was sent to you by Daniel H. Hudgins and was dated less than 30 days ago. In other words do not try to order goods if more than 30 days have passed between the time the order information was sent to you, and you send your order with payment back to me.
Do not ask me about prices and what can be ordered if you do not see a link to the "ORDER.TXT" "Correspondence Form," in the "Correspondence Forms" sub-section of this SECTION: 8 of the "On-Line" version of this HTML document, indicating that ordering information is currently available. If anything was available right now you would probably see instructions for how to get, or view, a current price list in this "Orders and Payment" sub-section. Products may be introduced, suspended, and discontinued without notice. If I am revising or re-designing a product it may become unavailable for a prolonged time, and not come back in the same or compatible form, if at all.
If you are reading this section "Off-Line" from a CD-ROM, or other media, this section is almost certainly out of date and you will probably need to check the "On-Line" version of "This Web Site," or the equivalent to possibly get somewhat more current information.
Please do not correspond with me asking about product information, prices, or any information about items that are not currently offered on the current "ORDER.TXT" "Correspondence Form." The "ORDER.TXT" "Correspondence Form" may not be available at any given time, do not ask me about it if it is not available right now.
Do not try to order anything you see listed in an "Off-Line" version of this document such as a CD-ROM, saved or cached file, or *.ZIP file that was downloaded.
There are no products listed here at this time in this version of this document, which may not be up to date if you are reading an "Off-Line" version. All offers, and product specifications, are subject to change without notice. All order forms are out of date after 30 days.
You can check SECTION: 9 to see if something like what you are interested in can be downloaded at "no charge" from there.
